It began in a tiny Brooklyn kitchen, crafting preserves from care packages of backyard citrus and herbs sent from family in Louisiana. This passion for preserving connects homes both near and far.

After traveling through Asia, Europe, and the Middle East as an architect, late nights were spent exploring spice markets and immersing in diverse flavors. Each flavor tells a story and evokes a sense of home. The mission is to blend high-quality spices with favorite fruits, creating a balance of familiarity and excitement—mirroring the fusion of science, craft, and emotion found in architecture.

BRINS, a Cajun French term meaning "little bit," reflects this journey from Louisiana to Brooklyn. The preserves are made with less sugar, vegan pure cane sugar, all-natural pectin from citrus peels, and zero preservatives.

  • Salted Concord: A sensory interpretation of the famed wood block depicting the Life of Nichiren & his journey on the salty sea into exile on the Island of Sudo. Inspired by this vivid depiction of the bold, wild and salty Japanese sea. We used classically bold concord grapes and traditional Japanese sea salt for a charismatic twist on an iconic jam. 
  • Unicorn Garden: A sensory interpretation of the famed “The Unicorn in Captivity” Tapestry housed at the Met Cloisters. Pomegranate, Strawberry & Rose. Inspired by the vivid depiction of ripe pomegranates, lush forest berries & fragrant flowers seen in the tapestries’ collection.
  • Banana Jam: Mellow vanilla rounds out the boldness of sweet bananas to create this simple but complexly comforting jam. The taste is simple, balanced & sweet pairing remarkably well with a multitude of cheese.
  • Blueberry Sumac: Wild blueberries are cooked with salt cured, equitably sourced, wild, Turkish sumac berries. Another fun partnership with Burlap & Barrel for the best in single origin spices.
  • Cherry Chai: Tart, bright local NY sour cherries are bathed in the warming spices cinnamon, cardamon, and ginger of traditional chai.
